The Minister of Agriculture’s revocation of the designation of Leaf Services to carry out grading inspections on grain and grain products in the country is seen as a significant milestone. Grain SA added its voice to that of stakeholders such as the millers, bakers, Agbiz, SACOTA, and AFMA due to the additional millions that Leaf Services’ inspection fees would have added to the cost of grain and oilseeds. Grain SA remains committed to continuously addressing the obstacles faced by producers and is working closely with the department to cut these ‘ropes’ one by one.
